Volunteers are needed as follows:
WHO: Marine Corps League volunteers for a Firing Detail to rededicate the American Legion Post 35 9-11 Memorial (https://www.post35nh.com/) and honor the latest Service members to be added to the list of those who have sacrificed their lives in the Global War on Terrorism.
WHAT: Perform a fitting tribute to honor the lives lost in the Global War on Terrorism since 11 Sep 2001.
WHEN: Wednesday, 11 Sep 2024 at 1800 (Firing Detail, participants/attendees should be present NLT 1730).
WHERE: American Legion Post 35, 69 High Street Hampton, NH 03842
WHY: To honor the service and sacrifices of Servicemembers and Veterans who have given their lives in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
SITUATION: On order perform a professionally executed firing detail to honor the service and sacrifices of Global War on Terrorism Servicemembers and Veterans from NH.
MISSION: Provide an appropriate and fitting tribute in memory of those Servicemembers and Veterans who have given their life in Service of their country and the Global War on Terrorism in direct support of American Legion Post 35 Hampton, NH.
EXECUTION: Form up at the Assembly Area (Post 35 HQ parking lot, 69 High St. Hampton, NH) NLT 1730, Wednesday, 11 Sep 2024 for issuance of ceremonial firearms and rehearsals; perform a well executed firing detail in coordination with American Legion Post 35; conduct a brass police call immediately after the ceremony; return ceremonial firearms to weapons custodian for further storage. Be prepared for inclement weather alternate plans and/or cancellation of the firing detail portion of these tributes.
ADMIN AND LOGISTICS: Uniform is short sleeve undress uniform, white ceremonial duty belt, white gloves, black epaulette mourning patch (if issued one), red satin jacket (for participants), appropriate civilian attire with MCL cover (for attendees); assemble per direction in Execution paragraph above at already identified location; conduct brass police call immediately following ceremony; return firearms to weapons custodian.
