Arthur Sacramone, 93, of Portsmouth died peacefully at his home on March 26 after a brief illness.

Arthur was born in Everett, MA. August 3, 1930 son of Vincenzo and Assunta Sacramone.

He attended Everett public schools, and proudly served in the U.S Marine Corp attaining the rank of Gunnery Seargent. While stationed at the Portsmouth Naval Prison, he met his future wife Helen and settled in Portsmouth.

Arthur was a self-employed master electrician starting his own business in 1961. It is still in operation after 63 years.

Arthur was an avid outdoorsman enjoying many hunting trips with friends and family. He especially loved spending time at his camp in Brookfield, NH where many great times were had. He was a family man who loved tradition. His family brought him so much pride and joy. One tradition he cherished was starting his tomato plants on St. Patrick’s Day each year with seeds from the prior year. This year we did this with him at his kitchen table. Being a generous man, he looked forward to sharing his plants with many friends.

He was married to Helen Marcuri for 63 years before her passing in 2015.

Arthur is survived by brother Robert Sacramone of Chelsea, MA, son Thomas J. Sacramone of Portsmouth, NH, son A. John Sacramone & wife Felicia of Greenland, NH, granddaughter Mariel Sacramone and Shane Winslow of Stratham and grandson Vincent Sacramone and Ruby Hayes of Rye, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Helen Sacramone, parents Vincenzo and Assunta, brothers Frank, Dominic, Vincent, and Frederick Sacramone.

Arthur was a life member of many clubs including The100 Club of NH, The NRA, Lodge #97 Elks of Portsmouth, The Marine Corps League Seacoast Detachment, The Piscataqua Fish and Game Club, 60-year member of The Warwick Club and member of The Sons of Italy.

Visitation hours will be Wednesday, April 3 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State Street, Portsmouth. The funeral will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 4, at Immaculate Conception Church, 98 Summer Street, Portsmouth.
